John Hall Joins American Pride Bank Team as President and CEO

For Immediate Release
October 30, 2009

American Pride Bank is excited to announce that John Hall will be joining the Bank and its holding company, American Bancorp Inc., as President and CEO.  Hall brings over 23 years of banking experience to American Pride Bank.  Working with community, regional, and super-regional banks over the years, Hall’s most recent tenure was with First Choice Community Bank as its President and CEO.

As President and CEO of American Pride Bank and American Bancorp, John Hall will be responsible for the Bank’s leadership and business development.  Hall is a native of Macon, Georgia and is eager to come back, saying, “I am excited about returning home to continue my banking career.  For my wife, Stephanie, and our family, moving “back home” creates tremendous excitement.  My father, George Hall, was a career Middle Georgia banker, with Georgia Bank/Bank South, and it has always been my goal to come back home to “follow in his footsteps.””

Mr. Hall goes on to say “I am especially excited about joining American Pride Bank.  The Bank embodies what community banking is all about:  delivering the highest level of superior service to our customers, while delivering customized personal and business banking solutions to meet all of our customers’ financial service needs.   It is an honor to come back and serve this community.  To friends of old and friends of new, I look forward to being of service to you!”

Hall will be joining American Pride Bank starting Monday, November 9, 2009.  The Bank will hold a press conference and open house on Thursday, November 12 at their Macon location to welcome Mr. Hall.  The press conference will begin at 10am and the open house will follow at approximately 11am.

The Board of Directors felt strongly that bringing on an individual with community ties and market experience would continue American Pride Bank’s success and growth.  Chairman Danny Patel helped make the announcement to the staff earlier this week.  Patel is particularly excited about Hall’s acceptance of the position, saying “Mr. Hall’s ties to Macon are invaluable to us.  He is going to quickly become a member of our Bank family.  We look forward to his working with the community and with American Pride Bank.”

The Board of Directors wishes to thank the past and current executive management staff for all of their hard work.  Their hard work and tireless effort is what has brought success to American Pride Bank thus far.  Patel goes on to say, “We couldn’t ask for a better management team.  We are sad to see Mr. Cathey go and that is no reflection on his management skills.  We are excited to have John Hall join us and we know he will carry us on to success.”
